This is a little bit more of a tossup. The designs of the 'Old Ones' are better the second time around, and having them travel in a column is a good idea, although the double-spread winds up being full of empty space. The new version of the 'Mad Arab' actually has better colors, but the empty spaces at the right add little to the composition. If this story really were committed to dead trees, it would be hard to justify spending money to print those dandelion trees at the right.

Actually, the "even death they die" part is from another author, not lovecraft, and is not in the necronomicaon, AFAIK

From The Call of Cthulhu, Chapter II:

"...the deathless Chinamen said that there were double meanings in the Necronomicon of the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred which the initiated might read as they chose, especially the much-discussed couplet:

That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die."

The characters, human, are wonderfully drawn.
You are saying with pictures what it would take many words to say.
Well done.

The old ones are generally thought not to be shaped as Cthulhu is, but drawn is drawn.
And It is 'for easy readers' after all.

I know. I was trying to give the impression of a whole bunch of tentacled things squirming Their way across the cosmos with Cthulhu kind of casually breaststroking out in front. On reflection, I decided that not throwing in some more diverse forms was a missed opportunity, and I have actually already drawn some different Ones to revise the page (I'm conscious that there are a lot of folks waiting for new pages, so I don't want to keep their wheels spinning with constant revisions).

Anyhoo, thanks for your comments, they're much appreciated - and I'll make the diverse Old Ones my next priority.

Eh, keeping all the Old Ones the same fits in with the cartoon stylings. The way I see it, the other Cthulhus got lost on the way, and ended up on other worlds.

Page 22 here was originally page 21, but it seemed to fit better here. There has been a new page 21 added featuring Castro.
