A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Arkham Asylum

So I went on a spree, a spree I say!

A little soiree that lasted all day!

It went on into the night, beneath the full moon

Across the whole street, just me and my goons!

When finally, like a shot heard from afar

Arrived good old Batman! He brought his toys and cool car.

He jumped out like a cat from its cage

And despite all the years that weigh on his age

He landed on both feet, on the ground with no sound

Stuck his finger in my face and said, "Joker, don't mess with my town!"

I laughed quite discreetly, and with movements so meekly, I held up both hands. "Oh Batsy," I said, with a wink in my eye, "I'm not up to any tricks! Nobody has died!"

But Batman, even though his ears are so tall

He didn't hear me -- no, not at all!

He balled up his hand, turned it into a fist

And he swung right for me! Thank God, he missed!

And so we did fight, all day and all night

Till finally did I wear out his heroic might

But with one last little trick, one I did not see coming at all

He rose up -- and poor ole Joker did fall.

Still did Il giggled as he lifted me back to my feet

As I bled and I smirked, missing some teeth.

"It's over now, Joker," he said in a voice that's so mean.

"I'm taking you in, you cackling fiend!"

And into a cop car he did throw me

But just you all wait -- soon Joker will again be free.
